I’m not planning on breeding anything; I am just merely curious. So if you breed a Munchkin to a Munchkin, the mother cat doesn’t give birth to dead kittens, does she? I heard it’s kind of like an embryo that is absorbed before it turns into a kitten. Is that right? And if so, what cats would have to be bred in order to get that specific Munchkin breed?

Munchkins are bred to Munchkins, however not all the kittens will necessarily be Munchkins. Not sure what you’re referring to. Munchkins have the dwarfism gene.
